Students at Lincoln Elementary School in Emmaus have a new learning tool: an outdoor learning garden.
A group of Lincoln families and some local businesses chipped in the time and materials to give the outside of the school building new landscaping and the garden.

My Venture into T.V. Land

An Emmaus freelance garden designer known for her personalized designs is the behind the scenes inspiration instrumental for the new A&E series “Fix This Yard.”
Although her work is featured only in one episode, Bridget Huzar was tapped as the “off-camera” designer and expert consultant for the pilot of “Fix This Yard,” which airs at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Heart of Steelcity Blog post about Bridget Huzar Garden Designs

Summer is wonderful for many reasons, but at the top of many lists is the idea of fresh vegetables, bright flowers, and the satisfaction of working in a garden. Forlandscape designer Bridget Huzar, a passion for exactly these things has lead her down a bright path (likely stone, and lined with flowers) to owning a successful business that focuses on beauty, practicality and earth-consciousness.
Bridget’s work has even lead to her designs being featured on the national network A&E on a show called “Fix This Yard!”.Read on to learn about how the dream and desire of a once 19-year old girl has lead to a life and career of art, science and passion. It’ll be a beautiful journey.

Your Guide to Container Gardening

Container gardening always seems to look  harder than it actually is. There appears to be some kind of special training or membership to a secret horticultural society, required to venture this task. You look upon other gardens and say, “isn’t that beautiful, I wish my house looked like that!” Stop wishing and dreaming and start doing. In my opinion gardening is just like everything else in life - at first you’re scared of the unknown and you don’t want to make mistakes. You will learn more from doing, failing and trying again than you will from reading and wishing. The basics of container gardening can be broken down into 4 categories: what, where, how, and why not.http://webegirls.com/?p=248

The Art and Science of Landscape Design

When you spend time outside observing nature, you notice the delicate balance and harmony between plants and their environment. I knew that it would be a great challenge to learn to combine my love of nature and art into a profession. I guess you could call me “old school”, since I choose to hand draw my designs instead of digitally creating them, but I love how it keeps me connected to the “organic” process of designing with plants.  http://webegirls.com/?p=3752
